Simply put, the DRIVER3.0 features a slightly larger tail rocker and deeper double-to-single concave through the rear half than its predecessor, the Driver2.0. The line of the deck in the tail is more pronounced, with lower and squared edges, to follow the curve of the bottom and slide without problems in the water.
More concave means more lift and more edge rocker. More lift means more speed. More edge rocker means more cornering, for scorching tight turns.
We have narrowed the board, between the feet, adding grip and stability to the profile.
The round tail is quite wide and forgiving under the rear foot, but the last few inches tuck back just enough to add confidence and grip in the pocket.
To balance these design elements (added tail rocker, narrower deck, scooped deck and edge rocker) they've brought a bit more width to the front outline and volume to the front leg. This forefoot volume adds glide and a more responsive drive off the front foot.
The DRIVER3.0 is thicker, along the line (for racket power and momentum), but has a higher angled "V" deck, which eliminates bulk and ends in a moderate edge, but round and tolerant.
In general, the dimensions and volumes are noticeably a bit more generous.
Like everything else in the evolution of this board's design, it's a response to requests from high-level team riders.
The DRIVER3.0 Rnd is the status quo of high-end, pro-performance surfing today. Developed with guidance, testing, and feedback from many of the top surfers in the US and around the world, it has been proven in the world's best surf breaks, yet is designed with enough volume and built-in speed. to be a viable tool in any surfer's quiver.
