Titled monitors
All our instructors are sports technicians TD1 or TD2 by the Spanish surf federation and all our free time monitors have the qualifications required by the Government of Cantabria. The Escuela Cantabra de Surf is an official Quiksilver and Roxy surf school and is approved by the European Surfing Federation, the International Surfing Association (ISA), the Spanish Surfing Federation (FES), the Cantabrian Surfing Federation (FCS), the Official City Council School Ribamontán al Mar, Bahía Santander Tourism Seal, member of the Association of Schools and Professional Surfers (AESP), among many other quality seals.

Since its foundation in 1991, by David “Capi” Garcia, on Somo beach, Cantabria, thousands of students have passed through the school, who have improved and perfected our methodology. David “Capi” Garcia
When he was just 6 years old, his father pushed him on his first wave on his beloved Somo beach, in Cantabria. Since then, his whole life has revolved around surfing and this beautiful madness, which is to captain the Escuela Cántabra de Surf, of which he is the founder and director since 1991. He has traveled all over the world in search of the best waves in the world. planet and for more than 10 years he has been in the national and European top, becoming the surfing champion of Cantabria and Spain.
He now wants to transmit all his experience and love for surfing, to all his students and his surf team,
along with a super crew of instructors who also live and love surfing “Do you dare to paddle with us?”

We started giving surf lessons in 1991 without thinking that surfing would become the phenomenon that it is today. The beginnings were not easy, but with a lot of passion and work of many wonderful people and professionals who have spent more than 31 years at the surf school, the school has become the No. 1 surf school in Spain and one of the greatest references in the world of surfing.
We love Surfing
We didn’t get into surfing because of fashion, but thanks to our parents, who passed on to us as children the love for surfing, the sea and nature. Teaching surfing is fun, yes, but at the same time it carries a great responsibility. We belong to a surfing culture, which has been raised on the beach, has learned from the elders and from the lessons that the sea provides us, hours of saltpeter in the water and experience giving surf lessons. All those surfing roots and values are what we transmit today to all our students.
